Top 20 Celebrity Cheating Scandals

Top 20 Celebrity Cheating Scandals

By NoelGRSr

Man, do we love a celebrity cheating scandal. In 2015, for example, just the mere suggestion that Ben Affleck had cheated on Jennifer Garner with their nanny had the tabloids going into overdrive – even if there was never even any confirmation that he’d actuallydone it. And these 20 couples were similarly whispered about, even if it was merely hinted at that they’d strayed from their significant others – perhaps, finally, a drawback to being in the spotlight.

20. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson

Once upon a time, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were both the hot young things from theTwilight Saga movies and a golden couple beloved of fans around the world. That is, right up until the moment that Stewart cheated on her dishy vampire-playing boyfriend with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. After the scandal broke, the couple tried to patch things up, but their reunion didn’t last as Stewart and Pattinson finally split in 2013.

19. Hugh Grant and Liz Hurley

A huge scandal hit in 1995 when Hugh Grant was caught in LA with prostitute Divine Brown. Not only that, but the British actor was in a relationship with Liz Hurley at the time – oops. Naturally, she was devastated, but not devastated enough to call time on the relationship straight away; in fact, it took until 2000 for the two of them to break up after a 13-year romance. Even now, apparently, the former couple is still on good terms.

18. LeAnn Rimes and Dean Sheremet

Singer LeAnn Rimes was the talk of Tinseltown and beyond in 2009 when it was revealed that she had cheated on husband Dean Sheremet with actor Eddie Cibrian. “I take responsibility for everything I’ve done. I hate that people got hurt, but I don’t regret the outcome,” said Rimes in aPeople interview, and the new couple’s marriage in 2011 probably cemented her feeling that her choice was the right one. Sheremet, naturally, would eventually reveal that he was somewhat less sanguine about the whole affair.

17. P. Diddy and Kim Porter

Kim Porter was expecting twins when she was told that boyfriend P. Diddy had only recently made another woman pregnant. Understandably, that proved to be one of the final straws for Porter, and so the pair split not long after their children were born. For his part, the rap mogul would eventually explain away his philandering so: “When a relationship gets to a certain point, I probably get scared and become a little self-destructive.” Tell us something we don’t know, Diddy.

16. Kobe and Vanessa Bryant

Lakers star Kobe Bryant found himself embroiled in a sexual assault case in 2003, leaving him with little choice but to admit to cheating on his wife of two years, Vanessa. The case itself would come to an ambiguous end, but the end of the Bryants’ time together looked more clear-cut in 2011 when Vanessa filed for divorce. This checkered history made it all the more surprising, then, when the pair got back together in early 2013.

15. Mario Lopez and Ali Landry

Mario Lopez cheated on his new wife Ali Landry during a wild party back in 2004, with the Extrahost later rubbing salt into the wound by admitting in his 2014 memoir that he had never even loved her in the first place. Ouch. Landry bounced back, though: she’s now happily married with three children.

14. Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan

For a long time, it was thought that Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan’s ten-year marriage broke up because she cheated on him with Russell Crowe. However, that may not have been the case – or, at least, not entirely. “Dennis was not faithful to me for a very long time,” the actress divulged to magazine InStyle in 2008, also adding, unusually, that she had nevertheless found her time being portrayed as a Hollywood “scarlet woman” as “rather interesting” and “incredibly liberating.”

13. David Boreanaz and Jaime Bergman

Buffy the Vampire Hunter star David Boreanaz turned out to be no Angel when it was revealed that he had cheated on wife Jaime Bergman with other women. The former Playboy Playmate and her philandering spouse, however, divulged to People in 2010 that they were slowly piecing their relationship back together with the aid of couples’ therapy – which may have helped, as they’re still together to this day.

12. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver

Arnold Schwarzenegger ruined his 25-year marriage to Maria Shriver when he embarked on a liaison with his housekeeper Mildred Baena, even fathering a love child with her. After that scandal broke in 2011, things looked even worse for the cheating Terminator star when Brigitte Nielsen subsequently came out and claimed that she’d had an affair with him too. Tut tut, Arnie.

11. Usher and Tameka Foster

Given Usher and Tameka Foster’s prolonged and messy post-divorce child custody battle, it seemed as if there was plenty of bad blood between the two. That naturally led people to ask whether the R&B star had cheated on his former spouse – a rumor Usher addressed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2012. He explained, “I was faithful at heart, but not faithful all the way.” That’s probably a yes, then.

10. Jesse James and Sandra Bullock

Jesse James’ reputation never quite recovered from the 2010 revelation that he had stepped out on wife Sandra Bullock with a string of women. “I’m the guy that ruined my marriage because I banged some stripper. There’s got to be some flaw in my personality that made me think that was okay,” the Monster Garage host reflected on In Depth with Graham Bensinger in 2015. At least he’s self-aware, if not necessarily deserving of sympathy.

9. Peter Cook and Christie Brinkley

Christie Brinkley’s fourth marriage ended in scandal utterly unlike those that had followed the end of her first three, when it was revealed that her estranged husband, Peter Cook, had been cheating on her with a teenager. And the details of the affair were both juicy and salacious; among them, an admission under oath from Cook’s young mistress that he had given her thousands of dollars for a new car.

8. David Letterman and Regina Lasko

David Letterman caused more of a stir than any of his guests on one episode of his talk show in 2009. That’s because not only did he admit on air that he had been blackmailed, but the reason for that attempted extortion was his affairs with several of his female employees. Remarkably, once everything blew over, Letterman and his partner Regina Lasko remained together – three years later, the errant TV host even said on Oprah’s Next Chapter that their relationship had “never been better.”

7. Eric Benét and Halle Berry

Even beautiful, talented and Oscar-winning actresses can be cheated on, as Halle Berry found to her cost during her relationship with Eric Benét. And even though the singer-songwriter tried to address the situation by embarking on a sex addict rehabilitation program, the marriage couldn’t be saved. “She just couldn’t trust me anymore,” Benét told People in 2005. Small wonder, really.

6. Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian

In January 2016 the whole world – or the parts of it that cared – saw Scott Disick tearfully apologize to Kourtney Kardashian on Keeping Up with the Kardashians for straying with his ex-girlfriend. It was an act of contrition preceded by the couple’s much-publicized split in July 2015 after nearly a decade together – and one that apparently fell on deaf ears, since the reality TV stars are still very much apart… for now, at least.

5. Aaron Carter and Hilary Duff

Aaron Carter and Hilary Duff got together when they were both just 13, so it’s probably not surprising that he ended up exploring, well, pastures new. Even back then, though, he must have known that messing around with Duff’s best friend was a bad idea. And, rather sweetly, Carter admitted in a 2014 Twitter post that he still regretted his mistake, tweeting “I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her.” Aww.

4. Jude Law and Sienna Miller

In 2005 Jude Law was exposed in the media as having cheated on fiancée Sienna Miller with the nanny. He instantly released a statement of “sincere regret” about the affair, but there was a twist: Miller had apparently cheated too, and with none other than future James Bond actor Daniel Craig. What a turn-up for the books…

3. Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren

After that 2009 car accident, Tiger Woods’ squeaky-clean image was forever tarnished when he was famously exposed as a cheater. And the fallout was epic: as well as the understandable divorce from wife Elin Nordegren, the golf champ was forced to apologize for his “transgressions” with a seemingly unending number of women and scandal-mongers went into overdrive. Quite the fall from grace, all told.

2. Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore

Apparently, Ashton Kutcher spent his sixth wedding anniversary canoodling in a hot tub with two girls, neither of whom were his wife Demi Moore. And in 2015, post-divorce, actor Scott Eastwood announced that Kutcher did indeed cheat on his Hollywood star spouse – with Eastwood’s then-girlfriend, of all people. Let’s hope Mila Kunis has better luck taming him.

1. Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston

“Not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love,” Angelina Jolie once said about the prospect of showing her and Brad Pitt’s movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith to their kids. There was just one problem with that: Pitt should have been in love with his wife Jennifer Aniston back then. Still, at least Brangelina have more than stayed the course – despite the relationship’s rather dubious beginnings.
