It is the second time in recent months that a man was shot in Chicago while streaming video liveon Facebook. Brian Fields was shot at 16 times in March while streaming video of himself. He was critically injured.
The video recorded Wednesday night shows Perkins filming himself with his phone, talking to the camera and other people while walking around on the sidewalk. As he stares into the camera, shots suddenly ring out. About 12 shots can be heard as Perkins falls to the ground and witnesses scream. The phone is then moved around for about a minute before it goes dark, with the sounds of witnesses still heard.
The video continues for about 30 minutes after the shooting.
