TOP 10 BATH REMEDIES

You might have heard of different types of bath recipes. What are they for? Basically you will find skin moisturizing or softening bath salts and herbs in the market that you are supposed to put in your hot bath tub and soak yourself in it. There are a lot of bath remedies that can help you with a number of health and beauty issues. Here are some bath remedies for common problems:

1.SLEEP TIME BATH



Lavender is another well-known remedy to help deal with sleep apnea symptoms. You can also use chamomile along with lavender for better effects. Mix crushed dry flowers of chamomile and lavender in equal quantities and store in a jar. You can also make a salt bath soak with 1 cup Epsom salt along with 5-6 drops of lavender essential oil into the salt mixture. Add a handful of this or 2 tablespoons in a bath tub and soak yourself in it before bedtime.

2. SUNBURN BATH REMEDY



Oatmeal and baking soda can soothe sunburn due to their antiseptic and skin soothing properties. To make an oatmeal bath, blend a cup of any kind of oatmeal to a very fine powder in a blender or food processor. Fill the bathtub with cool water, add one cup of oatmeal and 1 teaspoon of baking soda (you can make a mixture and keep in a jar) to it and mix thoroughly. Soak in the bath water for about half an hour. After getting out of the water, air dry your body and avoid rubbing the skin with a towel. Do this once daily until you get rid of the sunburn symptoms.  



3. SINUS BATH REMEDY

Eucalyptus essential oil can help open up and soothe the tissue in the respiratory system. It’s known to help relieve the symptoms associated with cold and flu. Sea salt and baking soda helps body release toxins. Mix equal quantities of baking soda and sea salt and add few drops of eucalyptus and peppermint essential oil to it. Add 2 tablespoons to your warm bath tub and soak yourself in it. 


4. HEADACHE BATH RELIEF



Add two cups of apple cider vinegar to hot bath water. The ACV draws excess uric acid out of the body, and it provides joint pain, arthritis, gout and headache relief. ACV can also soothe sunburn, heal poison ivy, kill fungus and tone your skin – so there are some extra health benefits to this easy headache remedy. To get relief from headache, add only 1 tablespoon mustard powder along with a cup of epsom salt in your bath water and soak yourself in it for 15 minutes. Make sure that you do not have any cuts or irritations in your skin beforehand. In that case, you may simply soak your foot in mustard water. 

5. PMS BATH REMEDY



Epsom salt baths are a great way to get more magnesium while also de-stressing. Draw a bath with 1 to 2 cups of salt in fairly warm water a few days before the cramping usually occurs. The magnesium-sulfate from the Epsom salts is absorbed through the skin and help reduce water retention and bloating. It reduces inflammation to relieve pain and muscle cramps, relieves stress. The heat from the water also heats up the body causing toxins to get sweated out. Add in some lavender herbs or few drops of lavender essential oil. Lavender is such a calming, soothing scent. It can ease headaches and lighten your mood. Lavender also acts as a mild analgesic for cramps. 


6. BACKPAIN BATH REMEDY



Mix together 2 tablespoons of mustard powder and 2 cups Epsom salt. Store it in an air tight container and ¼ cup of this mixture to your bath tub. Soak in it for 20 minutes. This will soothe and reduce back pain. Drink plenty of water after the bath to rehydrate. Test mustard on your skin for irritation before the bath. 

7. BLOATING BATH REMEDY



Ginger and Epsom salts work amazingly well in reducing and preventing bloating. Mix ½ cup ginger powder in 2 cups Epsom salts and store it in an air-tight jar. Add 2-3 tablespoons of this to your bath tub and soak in for 15 minutes. Be sure to drink more water while you are bathing. Breathe deeply and relax. Make sure that you do not have any cuts or irritations in your skin beforehand. 


8. ACNE BATH REMEDY



If you have body or facial acne, try this bath soak for soaking and washing face. Mix together equal quantities of green tea and epsom salts, add in few drops of tea tree oil in it. Store it in a jar and use 2 tablespoons of this in your bath tub every time you soak. Wash your face too with it while you soak. 


9. COLD BATH REMEDY



Eucalyptus essential oil is great for common cold and it also helps with the muscle soreness related to cold. Simply mix up 1 cup Epsom salts and 2 teaspoons of eucalyptus essential oil and store it in a jar. Add 3 tablespoons of this mixture to bath tub and soak in for 15 minutes.

10. DRY SKIN BATH SOAK



Coconut milk and oatmeal work amazing in moisturizing dry skin. Mix together equal quantities of ground oatmeal, coconut milk powder and ¼ cups Epsom salts to it. Add ½ cup of this to your bath soak.
