BREAKING: Boko Haram Attacks Borno Again

 Scores of Boko Haram terrorists on Thursday evening invaded Jakana village of Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State leaving hundreds of residents fleeing for their safety even as the Military Base and the Police Outpost in the community was seriously under attack.



Jakana which is about 50 km drive from Maiduguri town had witnessed a series of attacks in the past.

Sources said the insurgents who were armed with Improvised Explosive Devices, EIDs, Petrol bombs and Anti Aircraft Machine Guns first laid ambush on security formations before displacing residents.


Heavy Gunshots As Boko Haram Again Attacks Maiduguri






There is currently tension in Maiduguri, capital of Borno state, due to an attack by the Boko Haram sect, the cable reports.

A resident of Addawari village, Jiddari-Polo area, told the news platform that the insurgents have been shooting since about 5:30pm.

“We have been indoors for the past two hours. Sounds of gunshot everywhere. We can’t even go out to break our fast,” the resident said.

The level of casualty is yet to be ascertained.

Security agencies have been repelling the activities of the insurgents, urging resident to keep safe in their residences.

However, some residents have been on the run, seeking safety in nearby locations.

Sani Usman, the spokesman of the Nigerian Army, has asked residents to keep calm, as the army repels the insurgents.


21 Dead As Boko Haram Attacks Villages Near Chibok





Boko Haram terrorists on Sunday attacked villages near Chibok in Borno state, with 21 people reportedly killed in two separate operations.

Chibok Hassan, a Chibok resident, told newsmen that attacks happened on Sunday and Wednesday.

He said the insurgents first struck at Kaya, a village 27 km from Chibok, and that residents had deserted their homes.

“There is no single soul remaining there (kaya)… The Boko Haram members came in the evening with their motorcycles, bicycles and started firing at everyone in sight,” he said.

“They burnt many houses. Those who were fortunate ran away, but those who couldn’t escape were attacked. All the villagers have moved out of the village.

“People did not hear about the killings because the village is not accessible. It is located inside the bush.”

Hassan said two days after the incident, the attackers returned to a village close to Gumsri, a Borno community, where 14 persons were allegedly killed.

According to The Cable, the Col. Sani Usman, a military spokesman, could not confirm the report as his phone calls were not could not be reached.


Boko Haram Kills 30 In Borno





No fewer than 30 persons were killed and dozens missing when Boko Haram insurgents ambushed a convoy of vehicles along the Dikwa-Ngala Road in Ngala Local Government Area Borno State yesterday, sources said.

Security agents could not be reached for statement up to the time of filing this report.

However, a top civilian JTF official at Dikwa told Daily Trust on the phone that 27 vehicles of various sizes and capacity conveying commuters and goods from Dikwa to Ngala were completely torched by the insurgents as most commuters fell off and took to their heels in various directions.

The insurgents were said to have ambushed the vehicles at Ramin Aljanu in between Logumani and Musune village along Dikwa/ Ngala highway, about 35 kilometers away to Gamboru Local Government headquarters.

“I can confidently tell you that no fewer than 30 people were killed by the insurgents who rained bullets on the convoy and even launched a rocket shot at a yellow bus, and many who fell off the vehicles took to their heels in all directions sustained serious injuries,” he said.


A man who said he lost three of his neighbors in the attack said the insurgents attacked the convoy on six Hilux vehicles.

“Many lost their lives, in fact, three of my neighbors who used to live next to my house were killed; we could not account for the dozens that fled. When they started shooting, people fled into the bush, so we don’t how many of them are still missing.

“Those injured were evacuated to Gamboru where they are receiving treatment. They (insurgents) carted away clothing materials, foodstuffs, mats, smoked fish and razed down all the vehicles,” he said.
