Bicep Workouts for Women

Some women fear lifting weights because they believe that they are going to get too big too fast. The truth is that it takes a lot of effort to build big bulky muscles. So, the average woman does not have to worry about looking too muscular. What women can expect from lifting weights is that they will have a lean and toned body.

This is the type of body that most women want that shows that they care about themselves and that they look great. When it comes to doing bicep workouts for women, it really is not that different than what men should be doing. Basically an arm is an arm and it doesn’t matter what gender you are.

The first thing that you have to do is to establish what are you working towards. All women are different and their work out goals will be different as well. Some women will actually want to build a lot more muscle and it might be because they are a bodybuilder, they play a very physical sport or that they have very wimpy and stringy looking arms.

There are cases when women who are severely overweight choose to build muscle throughout their body as a strategy for future weight loss and getting a toned body. To build more muscle you need to lift weights and do a variety of bicep exercises. You should not workout the same muscle groups each and every day because they need time to rest.

Other women are just looking for that lean and toned look that many appreciate and love. For them, it is not about adding a lot of muscular mass but just toning up their arms to give it a smooth and fit look. This is the look that you can see on people who do a lot different types of workouts, people who do yoga, on Pilates instructors, lean and trim tennis players, swimmers and even, fitness models. To achieve that look it is more about using medium weight and moderate repetitions. This strategy will not add too much muscle to your body.

So as you can see, it really is about naming and choosing your own adventure. It is about choosing what you want your body to look like and what strategy you are using for what your body will become. If you were interested in building muscle then the approach is to simply lift and use all the various bicep curl variations that are out there. If you just want that toned and lean look then you will need to lift lighter to moderate weights and do higher repetitions. Any of the various types of bicep workouts for women will work for either approach
