For years, India was buying cheap discounted oil from Russia, saving billions while the rest of the world paid full price.

Smart move, right?

“Wait… that wasn’t in the original deal!”

Meanwhile India insists it doesn’t need permission from anyone to buy oil and makes decisions based on its own national interest.

One day you’re buying oil from Russia.

Next day you’re negotiating with the US.

Then the Middle East crisis hits and suddenly everyone is scrambling again.

Global politics right now feels less like diplomacy…

…and more like Game of Thrones with oil tankers.
