BREAKING NEWS: MARCOS JR. WANTS FILIPINOS TO GUARD THE ₱7.2-TRILLION NATIONAL BUDGET!

WAIT A MINUTE… ARE WE THE TAXPAYERS OR THE SECURITY GUARDS NOW?!

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is reportedly calling on Filipinos to help monitor the proposed ₱7.2-TRILLION NATIONAL BUDGET FOR 2027 to make sure taxpayers’ money doesn’t mysteriously disappear into the pockets of corrupt politicians.

According to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, speaking during a press briefing in Bukidnon on October 29, the President wants everyone to help protect public funds from corruption.

THE PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE?

“Watch the people’s money and make sure it doesn’t end up in the pockets of corrupt politicians!”

Castro emphasized that monitoring public funds is everyone’s responsibility.

The President reportedly wants to prevent government money from being wasted on:

GHOST PROJECTS – Projects that exist beautifully on paper but apparently live in another dimension!

SUBSTANDARD CONSTRUCTION – Roads that develop potholes faster than politicians make campaign promises!

QUESTIONABLE EXPENDITURES – Because sometimes government money seems to disappear faster than your salary after payday! 🤣

BUT WAIT… HERE COMES THE PLOT TWIST!

The People’s Budget Coalition has reportedly raised concerns about more than ₱1 TRILLION in allocations it considers potential red flags in the House-approved 2027 budget.

And here’s where things get interesting! 👀

Among the flagged allocations is an additional ₱4.37 BILLION for public works projects in Ilocos Norte’s 1st Engineering District, associated with the congressional district represented by the President’s son, House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos.

Now, let’s be clear: A flagged budget allocation does not automatically mean corruption or wrongdoing.

But it certainly raises questions that deserve transparent answers!

🤣 THE MILLION-PESO QUESTION… ACTUALLY, MAKE THAT ₱7.2 TRILLION!

Mr. President, you want ordinary Filipinos to guard the national budget?

Fair enough!

But here’s a suggestion:

👉 Why not start with strict transparency, independent auditing, and accountability for everyone involved in preparing and spending that budget?

Because Filipinos are already working hard, paying taxes, surviving inflation, and trying to stretch their salaries until the next payday.

NOW WE NEED TO BECOME VOLUNTEER BUDGET WATCHDOGS TOO?!

At this rate, every Filipino deserves a new job title:

CITIZEN • TAXPAYER • BUDGET SECURITY GUARD

Salary: ₱0.00
Overtime: Unlimited
Responsibility: ₱7.2 TRILLION! 🤣🤣🤣

FINAL THOUGHT:

Protecting public funds is everyone’s responsibility, but the greatest responsibility belongs to the officials entrusted with spending them.

TRANSPARENCY SHOULD START AT THE TOP, NOT JUST WITH THE PEOPLE WATCHING FROM THE BOTTOM!

YOUR TURN, PILIPINAS!

Do you agree that ordinary Filipinos should help monitor the national budget, or should government officials first demonstrate stronger accountability?

👇 DROP YOUR THOUGHTS IN THE COMMENTS!

🤣 Remember: The national budget is PUBLIC MONEY, not a FAMILY ALLOWANCE!

🇵🇭 ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES!

“BASELESS LIES AND A BLATANT SMEAR CAMPAIGN!” — DUTERTE DEFENDS HIS FAMILY’S NAME

BREAKING NEWS: PULONG DUTERTE FIRES BACK! LIBEL AND CYBERLIBEL COMPLAINTS FILED AGAINST NBI DIRECTOR AND GMA NEWS PERSONALITIES

October 23, 2026 | Davao City, Philippines

The political controversy surrounding the Duterte family has taken another dramatic turn!

Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte has reportedly filed libel and cyberlibel complaints against NBI Director Melvin Matibag, Rodulfo Gracioso Jr., and several prominent GMA Network officials and journalists.

The congressman insists that the allegations against him are false and damaging to his family’s reputation.

PULONG DUTERTE TAKES LEGAL ACTION

On Friday, October 23, 2026, Duterte personally appeared at the Davao City Prosecutor’s Office to file the complaints.

Among those reportedly named as respondents are:

  • NBI Director Melvin Matibag
  • Rodulfo Gracioso Jr.
  • Mel Tiangco
  • Vicky Morales
  • Emil Sumangil
  • Felipe Gozon
  • Gilberto Duavit Jr.

Duterte maintains that his decision to pursue legal action is intended to defend his name and his family’s reputation.

THE ₱100-MILLION CASH DELIVERY CONTROVERSY

At the center of the legal dispute is an allegation attributed to Rodulfo Gracioso Jr. that ₱100 million in cash was allegedly delivered to Congressman Duterte.

The congressman strongly denies the accusation.

The controversy has raised questions about the evidence supporting the allegation and how it was presented to the public.

Was the ₱100-million allegation supported by sufficient evidence, or was the public given an incomplete picture?

That question remains unresolved.

“99% TRUE”? DUTERTE’S LAWYER QUESTIONS THE REPORTING

Duterte’s lawyer, Atty. Peter Paul Danao, has questioned the alleged premature public disclosure of the accusations while the investigation was still underway.

Danao also challenged the reported characterization of the allegations as “99% true,” particularly because Duterte’s side had allegedly not yet been obtained.

The lawyer argues that the circumstances surrounding the reporting warrant scrutiny.

However, these remain assertions from Duterte’s legal team, not established findings of wrongdoing.

PRESS FREEDOM OR MEDIA ACCOUNTABILITY?

The case has brought two important principles into focus: freedom of the press and the right of individuals to protect their reputations.

News organizations have a responsibility to investigate matters of public interest, especially allegations involving public officials.

At the same time, responsible reporting requires accuracy, verification, context, and a fair opportunity for relevant parties to respond.

Press freedom is essential to democracy, but so is accountability.

Whether any defamatory conduct occurred will be determined through the appropriate legal process.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The filing of a complaint does not automatically establish criminal liability.

Prosecutors must evaluate the evidence and determine whether the legal requirements for further proceedings have been satisfied.

The respondents also have the right to answer the allegations against them.

As the controversy develops, the public will be watching how the competing claims are examined.

ICYM EDITORIAL: THE TRUTH DESERVES EVIDENCE

Political controversies may dominate headlines, but public opinion should not replace facts.

If accusations are made against a public official, they deserve serious examination. If those accusations are disputed, the response also deserves fair consideration.

Justice must be based on evidence—not political loyalty, media popularity, or sensational headlines.

For now, the ₱100-million allegation remains disputed, and the legal complaints must be assessed on their merits.

WHAT’S YOUR TAKE?

Do you believe Congressman Paolo Duterte is justified in taking legal action to protect his family’s reputation?

Or do you think the controversy raises broader questions about press freedom and the reporting of allegations against public officials?

WHO REALLY DESERVES TO BE CALLED A WASTEFUL SPENDER?

THE BIG QUESTION OVER PUBLIC FUNDS IN 2024–2025

ICYM | In Case You Missed Philippines 🇵🇭

THE PEOPLE’S MONEY: WHO SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE?

Amid the continuing political attacks, allegations, and controversies surrounding Vice President Sara Duterte, one important question deserves the nation’s attention:

WHO REALLY DESERVES TO BE CALLED A WASTEFUL SPENDER OF PUBLIC FUNDS?

Why is it so easy to label, accuse, and condemn political opponents, yet when billions of pesos in government funds come under scrutiny, the same standards of accountability do not always seem to apply?

This question becomes even more significant when the Supreme Court declares certain government actions unconstitutional.

But one crucial distinction must be made: A ruling that a government action is unconstitutional does not automatically prove corruption, misuse of public funds, or criminal wrongdoing.

IF IT WAS UNCONSTITUTIONAL, WHO SHOULD ANSWER?

If particular budget allocations, fund transfers, or expenditures during 2024–2025 were declared unconstitutional, the Filipino people have every right to demand answers.

  1. Who proposed and approved the questionable government action?
  2. How much public money was involved?
  3. Was the money actually spent, and where did it go?
  4. What exactly did the Supreme Court declare unconstitutional?
  5. Were any officials found personally responsible for wrongdoing?

Political slogans, sensational headlines, and social media accusations are not substitutes for evidence.

The Filipino people deserve documents, transparency, due process, and genuine accountability — not political theater.

ONE VICE PRESIDENT UNDER INTENSE POLITICAL PRESSURE

Vice President Sara Duterte continues to face intense scrutiny, criticism, and political challenges from various institutions and sectors.

To her supporters, her continued presence amid these controversies represents determination and political resilience.

To her critics, the allegations concerning public funds require clear explanations and proper investigation.

Both perspectives deserve consideration under the same legal standards.

However, one principle should never be compromised:

ACCOUNTABILITY MUST NEVER DEPEND ON WHETHER SOMEONE IS A POLITICAL ALLY OR AN OPPONENT.

If the Vice President must answer questions about public spending, other government officials should be prepared to face equally rigorous scrutiny when their own decisions are challenged.

THE SUPREME COURT AND THE RULE OF LAW

The Supreme Court serves as a vital constitutional safeguard against government actions that violate the country’s fundamental law.

When the Court declares a government measure unconstitutional, that decision deserves serious attention.

However, determining responsibility for budget-related controversies in 2024–2025 requires examining the specific ruling, its date, the constitutional provisions involved, and the actual financial transactions.

An unconstitutional act does not necessarily establish that public money was stolen or wasted.

Legal findings must be respected, and allegations must be supported by evidence.

ACCOUNTABILITY MUST NEVER BE SELECTIVE!

Why should one government official face relentless public criticism while questionable decisions involving other officials receive less attention?

If the objective is truly transparency and responsible governance, the standards must apply equally to everyone.

Whether an official belongs to the executive branch, the legislature, or another government institution, public accountability should remain the same.

No political position should provide immunity from legitimate investigation.

And no political rivalry should justify accusations without sufficient proof.

PUBLIC FUNDS BELONG TO THE FILIPINO PEOPLE — NOT TO POLITICIANS, POLITICAL PARTIES, OR THOSE IN POWER!

THE BIG QUESTION EVERY FILIPINO SHOULD ASK

If we genuinely want honest government, shouldn’t every public official be judged by the same standards?

Before labeling someone a wasteful spender, shouldn’t we first establish the facts?

Who authorized the spending?

How much money was involved?

Where did the funds go?

Was any law violated?

And most importantly, WHO SHOULD LEGALLY BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE?

The Filipino people deserve answers — not endless political finger-pointing.

FINAL THOUGHTS: THE TRUTH SHOULD HAVE NO POLITICAL COLOR

Political loyalty should never replace independent judgment.

Supporting Vice President Sara Duterte does not mean ignoring legitimate questions about public spending.

Likewise, criticizing her does not justify overlooking questionable actions by other government officials.

The same Constitution, the same laws, and the same standards of accountability must apply to everyone.

🇵🇭 JUSTICE MUST BE FAIR. ACCOUNTABILITY MUST BE CONSISTENT. AND THE PEOPLE’S MONEY MUST ALWAYS BE PROTECTED.

💚 ONE VICE PRESIDENT. STILL STANDING STRONG!

NOW, LET THE FILIPINO PEOPLE DECIDE: WHO REALLY DESERVES TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE?

SINO BA TALAGA ANG DAPAT TAWAGING “LUSTAY”? ANG TANONG SA PAGGAMIT NG PERA NG TAUMBAYAN NOONG 2024–2025

ICYM | In Case You Missed Philippines 🇵🇭

💚 ONE VICE PRESIDENT. STILL STANDING STRONG!

Paalala: Ang artikulong ito ay komentaryong pampulitika at panawagan para sa transparency. Hindi nito ipinapalagay na may partikular na opisyal na napatunayang naglustay ng pondo.
