Royal Tiaras and the Stories Behind Them 8/14

This tiara comes from the collection of Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain. It was a wedding present from her husband in 1906. 


The tiara was made the same year by the court jeweler and is set in platinum with large round diamonds and has 3 fleur-de-lis motifs, which is a symbol of the house of Bourbon. Victoria Eugenia took the tiara with her in exile, and after the Spanish throne was restored the tiara was given as a present to Sofia, the wife of King Juan Carlos.
