WHY THE ANGEL MORONI TOPS MOST LDS TEMPLES

WHY THE ANGEL MORONI TOPS MOST LDS TEMPLES

(Feature photo of the Nauvoo Temple by Alan Fullmer)

If you’ve ever seen a temple, you’ve probably seen a golden statue standing on top of it. Unless you visited one of the eight temples that do not have a statue, the statue you saw was of Angel Moroni. Have you ever wondered why he stands atop so many temples?

WHO IS MORONI?

Moroni was a prophet in the Book of Mormon. He lived on the ancient American continent. As a mortal, he completed the compilation and writing of the Book of Mormon. Over 1,000 years later, he ministered to Joseph Smith as a resurrected being. It was part of the responsibility given to him to care for the Book of Mormon. Moroni counseled with Joseph Smith during several appearances. He instructed Joseph Smith, testified to the Three Witnesses of the Book of Mormon, and otherwise assisted in the work of restoring the gospel, until the Book of Mormon was published in 1830.

WHY IS HE ON SO MANY TEMPLES?

Because the angel Moroni had such a significant role in in restoring the everlasting gospel to be preached to all the world, we now place his statue atop the temples. He is shown as a herald of the Restoration to usher in the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ.

Dedicated in 1893, the Salt Lake Temple was the first temple topped with an angel that was formally identified as Moroni. It was hammered out of copper and covered with 22-karat gold leaf. The statue is over 12 feet tall and stands on a stone ball on the 210-foot central spire on the east side of the temple. The Los Angeles Temple and then the Washington DC Temple were the next temples to receive angel Moroni statues.

WHY NOT ALL THE TEMPLES?

Once in a while, building codes, architectural designs, or possible cultural misconceptions prevent the use of an angel Moroni statue. There are 9 temples in the world that do not have a statue: Paris, Cardston, Hamilton, Laie, Logan, Manti, Mesa, Oakland, and St. George.

TEMPLES THAT RECEIVED A STATUE LATER

There are a number of temples that got an angel Moroni statue years after their dedications. The first one was the Idaho Falls Temple, which received its statue nearly 40 years after the dedication! Then in the 2000’s, several angel Moroni statues were added to temples without them, including the Ogden Utah, Provo Utah, Freiberg Germany, São Paulo Brazil, Tokyo Japan, Bern Switzerland, and London England Temples

Now Let Us Rejoice

Now Let Us Rejoice

1. Now let us rejoice in the day of salvation.

No longer as strangers on earth need we roam.

Good tidings are sounding to us and each nation,

And shortly the hour of redemption will come,

When all that was promised the Saints will be given,

And none will molest them from morn until ev’n,

And earth will appear as the Garden of Eden,

And Jesus will say to all Israel, “Come home.”

2. We’ll love one another and never dissemble

But cease to do evil and ever be one.

And when the ungodly are fearing and tremble,

We’ll watch for the day when the Savior will come,

When all that was promised the Saints will be given,

And none will molest them from morn until ev’n,

And earth will appear as the Garden of Eden,

And Jesus will say to all Israel, “Come home.”

3. In faith we’ll rely on the arm of Jehovah

To guide thru these last days of trouble and gloom,

And after the scourges and harvest are over,

We’ll rise with the just when the Savior doth come.

Then all that was promised the Saints will be given,

And they will be crown’d with the angels of heav’n,

And earth will appear as the Garden of Eden,

And Christ and his people will ever be one.

10 Bible Verses About Being Fat

What Does the Bible Say About Being Fat?

Weight is a topic that many people think about, whether for health, appearance, or self-esteem.

In today’s world, body image is often a big concern, and people wonder what the Bible says about being overweight.

Does God care about our physical bodies?

Does being overweight mean someone is sinning?

Let’s explore what Scripture really teaches about weight, health, and how we should see ourselves in God’s eyes.

Does the Bible Say Anything About Being Overweight?

The Bible does not directly say that being overweight is a sin.

There are no verses that condemn a person simply for their body size.

However, the Bible does talk about self-control, caring for the body, and avoiding gluttony.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.”

This verse reminds us that our bodies belong to God, and we should care for them.

That doesn’t mean we have to be a certain weight, but it does encourage us to live in a way that is healthy and honors God.

Gluttony vs. Being Overweight

Some people assume that being overweight automatically means someone is guilty of gluttony.

However, these two things are not always the same.

Gluttony is defined as excessive eating and overindulgence.

Proverbs 23:20-21 warns, “Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags.”

This verse shows that overeating and overdrinking can lead to negative consequences. However, not everyone who is overweight eats excessively.

Many factors can contribute to a person’s weight, including genetics, medical conditions, stress, and life circumstances.

Instead of judging others, the Bible encourages self-examination and kindness.

Romans 14:3 says, “The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.”

This means that food choices and body size should not be reasons for judgment.

God looks at the heart, not just the outward appearance.

The Importance of Self-Control

While being overweight is not a sin, the Bible does emphasize self-control.

Galatians 5:22-23 lists self-control as one of the fruits of the Spirit.

This means that part of living a God-honoring life is being mindful of our actions, including how we eat and care for our bodies.

Philippians 4:5 says, “Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.”

This applies to how we treat our bodies as well. We should strive for balance—eating in a way that nourishes the body while also enjoying food in moderation.

The goal is not to focus on weight alone but to develop a lifestyle that is both spiritually and physically healthy.

Does God Care About Appearance?

In a world that often judges people by how they look, it’s important to remember that God does not see us the way the world does.

1 Samuel 16:7 says, “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

God is far more concerned with our character than our clothing size.

He does not define a person’s worth by their weight.

What matters most is our relationship with Him, our love for others, and the way we live our lives.

Society may place high importance on appearance, but God values the heart above all else.

Taking Care of the Body Without Obsession

Caring for our health is important, but the Bible also warns against obsessing over physical appearance.

1 Timothy 4:8 says, “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”

This verse acknowledges that physical health has benefits, but it also reminds us that spiritual health is even more important.

A healthy lifestyle is good, but it should not become an idol.

Our identity should be rooted in Christ, not in a number on a scale.

Finding Confidence in God’s Love

Many people struggle with body image and self-worth.

The good news is that our value is not based on what we weigh, but on the fact that we are loved by God.

Psalm 139:14 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Each person is created by God with care and purpose.

Weight does not change God’s love for us.

No matter how we look, we are valuable in His eyes.

Should Christians Diet?

Many Christians wonder if it is okay to go on a diet.

There is nothing wrong with making healthier choices, but the Bible encourages balance rather than extremes.

Ecclesiastes 3:13 says, “That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.”

Food is a blessing, not something to fear.

If someone chooses to diet, it should be done in a way that is sustainable and healthy, not in a way that leads to guilt or frustration.

Whatever we do, it should be done with a heart that seeks to honor God.

Encouraging Others Instead of Judging

Christians are called to build one another up, not tear each other down.

Ephesians 4:29 says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Shaming others for their weight does not reflect God’s love.

Instead, we should encourage each other in kindness, supporting one another in both physical and spiritual health.

Jesus spent time with all kinds of people and showed love to everyone, regardless of their appearance.

As His followers, we should do the same.

Balancing Health and Enjoying Life

The Bible does not demand perfection when it comes to eating or body size.

It teaches balance.

Proverbs 25:16 says, “If you find honey, eat just enough—too much of it, and you will vomit.”

This verse highlights moderation.

It is okay to enjoy food, but overindulgence can lead to problems.

Likewise, completely avoiding enjoyable foods out of fear can also be unhealthy.

A balanced approach—one that includes nourishment, enjoyment, and gratitude—is the best way to care for the body while still honoring God.

Final Thoughts

The Bible does not condemn being overweight, nor does it say that body size determines a person’s worth.

God cares about the heart far more than physical appearance.

While the Bible encourages self-control and healthy living, it also reminds us that our identity is found in Christ, not in a number on a scale.

Instead of focusing on weight alone, believers should strive for a lifestyle that honors God in all areas—spiritually, mentally, and physically.

Whether a person is thin, heavy, or somewhere in between, God’s love remains the same.

True confidence comes from knowing we are created by Him, loved by Him, and valuable in His sight.

Our goal should be to honor God in everything we do, including how we care for our bodies, while also remembering that our worth is never based on our size.

Likeness of Joseph Smith Jr.: Unveiling History through AI

Capturing the True Likeness of Joseph Smith Jr.: Unveiling History through AI

In the quest to unravel the true likeness of Joseph Smith Jr., the influential founder of the Latter Day Saint movement, the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) has brought forth unprecedented possibilities. Through a combination of historical validation, AI technology for facial analysis and reconstruction, we can now bring Joseph Smith Jr. to life in the 21st century with remarkable accuracy. This article explores the significance of the Marshall photo, the transformative power of AI, and the intriguing new daguerreotype that challenges conventional portrayals.

The Marshall Photo: Validating Joseph Smith Jr.'s Likeness

At the heart of our pursuit lies the Marshall photo—a unique and highly significant photographic image of Joseph Smith Jr. What sets this photo apart is its validation from Joseph Smith III, the Prophet's own son, as well as individuals who had personal connections with Joseph.

Joseph Smith III, the son of Joseph Smith Jr., held a deep understanding of his father's physical appearance and took great care to preserve his image for future generations. Recognizing the significance of capturing his father's likeness, Joseph Smith III safeguarded the photograph at the Library of Congress in 1879, ensuring its preservation. Furthermore, he entrusted the photographer Carter with the task of creating copies of the photograph, allowing for wider distribution and reproduction. Joseph Smith III's deliberate actions demonstrate his commitment to ensuring an accurate representation of his father's image and preserving it as a valuable historical artifact. I might note, a new daguerreotype has surfaced, suggesting it as a possible image of Joseph Smith Jr., but it is important to note that it lacks validation or replication by Joseph Smith III. A key missing element of provenance.

AI's Transformative Power: Bringing Joseph and Emma Smith to Life

Advancements in AI technology have revolutionized our ability to recreate historical figures, enabling us to envision Joseph and his wife, Emma Smith, with astonishing realism. These AI-generated images offer a captivating glimpse into how Joseph and Emma might have looked during their time, providing a deeper connection to their lives and the era they inhabited.

The following images of Joseph Smith Jr. have been generated using a copy of the original daguerreotype, resulting in the most advanced visual representations to date. AI

Witness Joseph Smith Jr. engrossed in his studies and reading, brought to life through an AI-generated image.

Witnessing Joseph Smith Jr. passionately delivering a sermon within the confines of a church is a powerful sight. The remarkable capabilities of AI become evident when observing its ability to accurately rotate Joseph's face in alignment with numerous profile drawings of him. This synchronization between AI-generated images and historical depictions is truly awe-inspiring, shedding new light on the accuracy and authenticity of Joseph Smith Jr.'s portrayal through advanced technology.

By employing AI algorithms for facial analysis and comparison, we can examine the distinct facial features, proportions, and characteristics of the proposed images in comparison to the validated historical references and the only known daguerreotype of Joseph Smith Jr. This process involves feeding the AI model with a comprehensive dataset of authenticated images, including the verified photograph and other reliable sources.

The AI model can then conduct a thorough analysis, leveraging its ability to identify patterns, similarities, and differences in facial structures. It can scrutinize aspects such as facial symmetry, specific facial landmarks, unique attributes, and other defining characteristics of Joseph Smith Jr.'s appearance. This allows for a comprehensive evaluation of the new images, assessing their level of alignment or deviation from the established historical records.

Through this rigorous AI-based examination, we can challenge and disprove the authenticity of images that do not align with the verified representation of Joseph Smith Jr. This approach offers an evidence-based and scientific method to assess the validity of the proposed images, separating historical accuracy from speculative interpretations.

By exploring these new images and subjecting them to AI scrutiny, we can contribute to a more accurate and informed understanding of Joseph Smith Jr.'s likeness. This in-depth analysis can help debunk unfounded claims and ensure that the historical narrative surrounding Joseph Smith Jr. is supported by robust evidence and rigorous research.

I look forward to further discussions on this topic and AI's role in evaluating the proposed images of Joseph Smith Jr. Come back for new posts in the near future

Why Did The Book of Mormon Authors Use Colophons?

Why Did The Book of Mormon Authors Use Colophons?

“And I know that the record which I make is true; and I make it with mine own hand; and I make it according to my knowledge.”

1 Nephi 1:3

The Know

Beginning with the pioneering work of Hugh Nibley, scholars have noticed that the Book of Mormon contains what are called colophons (from the Greek word kolofōn, meaning “summit,” “top,” or “finishing”). “In antiquity,” one scholar explained, “the beginning and/or the end of a literary text was often marked by colophons. The colophons as superscriptions and subscriptions contained various information about the published text (addressee, author, scribe, subject, chronological information, etc.).” Nephi’s introductory colophon is arguably the most notable example of its use in the Book of Mormon. After summarizing the contents of his record and identifying himself as both scribe and author of the text, Nephi began his account by affirming:

1). his good parentage and upbringing,

2). his education and scribal training, and 3). his reliability as an author (1 Nephi 1:1–3).

But Nephi was not the only Book of Mormon author to use colophons. Enos (Enos 1:1–2) and Mormon (Mormon 1:1) both begin their accounts with a colophon, while Jacob (Jacob 7:27) included a colophon at the conclusion of his record. Mormon also used colophons throughout his abridgement in order to introduce verbatim or near-verbatim quotations of various source texts.

Alma 5, for example, is prefaced with this introductory colophon: “The words which Alma, the High Priest according to the holy order of God, delivered to the people in their cities and villages throughout the land.” Likewise, Samuel the Lamanite’s prophecies to the Nephites recorded in Helaman 7–16 are introduced with a simple colophon identifying the author behind the text (Samuel) and a short summary of its contents.

The use of colophons to signal the beginning or end of a text is widely found in biblical, Egyptian, and Mesopotamian sources. The prophetic books of the Bible often begin with colophons which identify the prophet and briefly introduce the historical setting in which he was prophesying. For instance, the book of Isaiah begins: “The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah” (Isaiah 1:1).

Sometimes biblical colophons describe the prophecies as coming literally “by the hand” (bĕ yad) of the prophet (cf. Malachi 1:1Haggai 1:1), a feature shared in Mesopotamian texts to identify the copyist (“by the hand of so-and-so”) and in later Egyptian texts to indicate authorship (“written by his own hand”; cf. 1 Nephi 1:3).

As Nibley recognized, Nephi’s colophon at the beginning of his account shares striking similarities to the colophon found in an ancient Egyptian manuscript called the Bremner-Rhind Papyrus. Further similarities with Egyptian texts could be cited. Indeed, Egyptian literary texts very often end in either a short, formulaic colophon certifying that the text has been copied correctly or a longer colophon which also includes the identity of the scribe. Introductory prefaces to Egyptian literary texts likewise often include the name and titles of the writer or subject of the narrative. These and other considerations led Nibley to conclude that the type of colophon seen in 1 Nephi 1:1–3 is “highly characteristic of Egyptian compositions.”

The Why

Nephi said he wrote his record “in the language of [his] father, which consists of the learning of the Jews and the language of the Egyptians” (1 Nephi 1:2). This being the case, it is reasonable to expect that his writings should bear the marks of an ancient Judeo-Egyptian literary culture. Nephi’s use of colophons fulfills this expectation remarkably well. Inasmuch as there is clear evidence (unavailable in Joseph Smith’s day) for Egyptian influence on Jewish literary and scribal culture before and during Nephi’s time, this in turn reinforces the book’s historicity.

Besides this, learning to recognize colophons may assist readers in making sense of the Book of Mormon’s complex narratives. This is because colophons were used at strategic points in the text to help readers identify when certain sources are being cited, or when authorial voices are shifting from one to another (such as Mormon’s to Alma’s in Alma 5). As explained by LDS scholar John A. Tvedtnes, colophons “provide valuable clues to the process of writing and compiling the [Book of Mormon].”

The presence of colophons in the Book of Mormon forcefully testifies of the “great efforts made by its writers and editors to make the record as clear as possible.” As one whose soul “delight[ed] in plainness” (2 Nephi 25:4), it’s completely understandable, then, why Nephi would use colophons in his record, and why his prophetic and scribal descendants would follow suit.

The Book of Mormon Critics

Why Joseph Smith Critics Changed Their Tune After Realizing This About the Book of Mormon

Mike Tyson Tries To “PUNK” Floyd Mayweather And It Goes Horribly Wrong

In humans and probably all animals, one of the few things that unite us is the way we react when we are suddenly faced with danger, particularly life-threatening ones. This response is natural, and it is known as the flight or fight response.

Basically, it implies that there are two likely things that would happen to us if danger appears suddenly. It is either we run from it, or we face it. Both responses are fueled by the rush of the adrenaline hormone.

The flight or fight response is also known as the acute stress response. And interestingly, danger is not the only incident that triggers this response. You could be in the comfort of your room watching the television, and something startles you.

This often happens when you are fully invested in the movie that you are not aware of what is going on in the outside world.

Mike Tyson Tries To “PUNK” Floyd Mayweather And It Goes Horribly Wrong

One of the persons who exhibited defiance to a sudden situation is Floyd Mayweather. And It is correct to say that he had mastered the acute stress response because the way he stood unfazed in the face of impending danger was superb.

If most of us were in Floyd Mayweather’s shoes, we would have reacted in awkward ways. But, he stood his ground, not minding what would happen next.

Mike Tyson Tries To “PUNK” Floyd Mayweather And It Goes Horribly Wrong

Floyd Mayweather’s display of courage in the face of supposed danger occurred during the WBC awards ceremony in 2014. The WBC awards ceremony is a regular one that honors both present and past excellent fighters and avid supporters.

During the awards ceremony, Floyd Mayweather and other greats were standing on the stage. The host would call out some names, and they would walk to the stage to get their awards. And also exchange pleasantries with other people on stage.

Mike Tyson Tries To “PUNK” Floyd Mayweather And It Goes Horribly Wrong

Few seconds after Floyd Mayweather had finished greeting some notable awardees on stage, Tyson’s name was announced.

As Tyson walked towards Mayweather, no one would have guessed the stunt that Tyson would pull on stage. When Tyson almost got to where Mayweather was standing, he tried to fake a fast punch. Ordinarily, anyone who was in Tyson’s shoes would have ducked out of fear or tried to protect themselves.

Mike Tyson Tries To “PUNK” Floyd Mayweather And It Goes Horribly Wrong

What was more surprising was the fact that the fake punch was close to Floyd’s chin, which would have made him chicken out. And considering Tyson’s strength and size, he would have stunned Mayweather with his punch.

Surprisingly, Mayweather did not show he was scared, and even if he was, he did a good job of concealing it. Rather, a smile lit up Mayweather’s face, and he and Tyson enveloped in a warm hug.

Several specialists shared their views on Tyson’s stimulated punch, and they marveled at Floyd Mayweather’s undeterred response. Some of them also mentioned that owing to Mike’s track record of being volatile;

they would not have maintained a calm composure like Mayweather. After Tyson’s stimulated punch, the look on his face gave the impression that he acted almost overboard. So, even though he did it just for fun, it did not seem to go down well with him because several people were watching.

Later on, Tyson was given a chance to speak for a short while, and he gave a long-winded speech, which left many wondering what he was saying exactly. After his speech, he spoke with Mayweather and a couple of other awardees on the stage.

With Mayweather’s cool response to Tyson’s punk, people have hinted that in the face of real danger, it would be easy for Mayweather to make a quick, calculated move. Typically, his response would be to see if he is in real danger before he ducks or fights back.

A Long - Lost Civilization Build Megalithic Temples 13,000 Years Ago

13,000 years ago, loпg-lost megalithic bυilders coпstrυcted some of the most impressive temples υsiпg mυlti-toп stoпes. The sυrviviпg strυctυres пow beiпg excavated by archaeologists пot oпly predate pottery, metallυrgy, aпd the iпveпtioп of writiпg aпd the wheel bυt were bυilt before the begiппiпg of agricυltυre aпd aпimal hυsbaпdry.

A Long - Lost Civilization Build Megalithic Temples 13,000 Years Ago

There is a fasciпatiпg archaeological site located iп the soυtheasterп Aпatolia regioп of Tυrkey. It is called Göbekli Tepe, aпd it promises to redefiпe oυr υпderstaпdiпg of history, megalithic bυildiпgs, aпd early societies.

A Long - Lost Civilization Build Megalithic Temples 13,000 Years Ago

Bυilt dυriпg a time wheп techпologies sυch as the pυlly or the wheel were пot eveп iпveпted, Göbekli Tepe’s bυilders are thoυght to have beeп пo more thaп hυпter-gatherers.

To me, calliпg the bυilders of Göbekli Tepe υпdeveloped hυпter-gatherers, who happeпed to somehow bυild oпe of the most impressive temples iп the history of hυmaпkiпd, is aп iпsυlt to the history of civilizatioп.

These people were more thaп ordiпary hυпter-gathers. They were advaпced iп every seпse. Had they пot beeп, they woυld пot have beeп able to coпstrυct a megalithic complex of sυch proportioпs.
A Long - Lost Civilization Build Megalithic Temples 13,000 Years Ago

Göbekli Tepe is massive. Iп fact, it is so large that althoυgh archeological excavatioпs have beeп well υпderway for more thaп two decades, we’ve barely scratched the sυrface, exploriпg a little over five perceпt of the site. This meaпs that aroυпd пiпety-five perceпt of Göbekli Tepe remaiпs bυried beпeath the sυrface.

So far, archaeological sυrveys have revealed more thaп 200 stoпe pillars iпtricately placed iп 20 circles. The fasciпatiпg part is the size aпd weight of the pillars. Accordiпg to experts, each pillar has a miпimυm height of six meters, with a weight averagiпg teп toпs.

These pillars were fitted iпto sockets that were hewп oυt of the local bedrock.

The exact pυrpose of the massive pillars aпd the eпtire complex remaiпs a mystery, despite archaeological fieldwork beiпg carried oυt oп the site siпce 1996.

Eveп thoυgh we have barely scratched the sυrface of Göbekli Tepe, what we have foυпd so far attests to varioυs ceпtυries of activity, begiппiпg at least as early as the Epipaleolithic period–betweeп approximately 20,000 aпd 10,000 years Before Preseпt (BP).

This eпtire complex of stoпes, pillars, aпd scυlptυres were deliberately bυried aroυпd 8000 BC for a reasoп we have still пot υпderstood.

Scholars argυe that, together with Nevali Çori, this site has revolυtioпized the Eυrasiaп Neolithic υпderstaпdiпg.

It coпtaiпs the oldest megalithic complex kпowп to date, bυilt six thoυsaпd years before Stoпeheпge. It is coпsidered the oldest temple or saпctυary iп the world, where “the coпscioυsпess of the sacred” was likely birthed, playiпg aп importaпt role iп the spark that woυld eveпtυally give rise to civilizatioп as we kпow it.

Archeological fieldwork has ideпtified three phases of occυpatioп, or three layers: Layer III–the oldest–, Layer II aпd Layer I.

A Long - Lost Civilization Build Megalithic Temples 13,000 Years Ago

Layer III desigпates the oldest occυpatioп level aпd is believed to date back all the way to the (PPNA), aroυпd 9000 BC. Dυriпg this time, the bυilders qυarried aпd raised the massive pillars aпd liпked them via walls that form circυlar or oval coпstrυctioпs. It is believed that dυriпg this time, the bυilders erected more thaп 20 iпtricate strυctυres with massive pillars iп their ceпter.

The massive stoпe slabs were traпsported from bedrock pits foυпd aroυпd 100 meters (330 ft) from the hilltop, aпd the bυilders υsed fliпt poiпts to cυt aпd shape the limestoпe bedrock. It is aп iпcredible achievemeпt for aпcieпt cυltυres to have cυt, qυarried, aпd traпsported massive mυlti-toп blocks of stoпe more thaп 11,000 years ago.

Layer II, dated to the , betweeп 7500-6000 BC, revealed several adjaceпt rectaпgυlar rooms with polished lime pavemeпts, remiпisceпt of the floors of Aпcieпt Rome.

Oпe of the most cυrioυs pillars was discovered at Göbekli Tepe iп 2010, datiпg back to the PPNB; it is a stoпe pillar remiпisceпt of totem pole desigпs, measυriпg 1.92 meters iп height, aпd resembles the totem pols commoпly foυпd iп North America.

The pillar featυres three traits oп its sυrface, the υppermost of which represeпts a predator, most likely a bear. Beпeath, it featυres a hυmaпoid shape. Regrettably, the pillar is damaged, makiпg υпderstaпdiпg its symbols challeпgiпg.
A Long - Lost Civilization Build Megalithic Temples 13,000 Years Ago

Cυrioυsly, similar pillars were also discovered at Nevali Çori.

Bυt maпy of the symbols at Göbekli Tepe carry a message. Its moпoliths are decorated with carved reliefs of aпimals aпd abstract pictograms.

Needs Before Wants

Needs Before Wants

Needs Before Wants

Remember to live within our means. Be conscious of your instant gratification impulses and look at the bigger picture.

Screening the things you want to buy if they are a need or want can help you save that extra cash and let you realize that not all things that we deem necessary are actually worth buying.

List down your Short-term and Long-term plans

As an OFW, it’s helpful to have a goal as to how many years are you planning to stay abroad and list down your short-term and long-term goals. What do you plan to achieve within 5 years. What do you want to build or have within the next 10 years?

Avoid Vices

While we may feel all the right to spend our money on vices such as smoking, gambling and drinking, especially when we are stressed, this should not be an excuse.

To help you snap out of your vice, try computing how much you spend daily multiplied by 30 days. Now, multiply your monthly expenses to a year and that’s how much you can save if you STOP your vices.

Use the 80-20 Rule

As a general rule, you should divide your monthly earnings and allot 80% for your family expenses including leisure and allocate 20% strictly for your savings.

If you haven’t tried budgeting, this could be a great sign for you to start having one.

Start Investing

Investment starts with willingness and thoughts. When you visualize what you want to invest in, that is the only time you can think of ways on how you can attain them.

Investing your money begins with proper planning and research. Make sure to not throw your money all in the first offer of investment that comes your way. Carefully evaluate the many investment options presented to you and the rule of thumb is, don’t invest in something you don’t understand.

Mike Tyson And Floyd Mayweather Out Punk

Mike Tyson And  Floyd Mayweather Out Punk

Mike Tyson And Floyd Mayweather Out Punk

Mike Tyson And Floyd Mayweather Out Punk

One of the persons who exhibited defiance to a sudden situation is Floyd Mayweather. And It is correct to say that he had mastered the acute stress response because the way he stood unfazed in the face of impending danger was superb.

If most of us were in Floyd Mayweather’s shoes, we would have reacted in awkward ways. But, he stood his ground, not minding what would happen next.

Mike Tyson And Floyd Mayweather Out Punk

Floyd Mayweather’s display of courage in the face of supposed danger occurred during the WBC awards ceremony in 2014. The WBC awards ceremony is a regular one that honors both present and past excellent fighters and avid supporters.

During the awards ceremony, Floyd Mayweather and other greats were standing on the stage. The host would call out some names, and they would walk to the stage to get their awards. And also exchange pleasantries with other people on stage.

Mike Tyson And Floyd Mayweather Out Punk

Few seconds after Floyd Mayweather had finished greeting some notable awardees on stage, Tyson’s name was announced.

As Tyson walked towards Mayweather, no one would have guessed the stunt that Tyson would pull on stage. When Tyson almost got to where Mayweather was standing, he tried to fake a fast punch. Ordinarily, anyone who was in Tyson’s shoes would have ducked out of fear or tried to protect themselves.

Mike Tyson And Floyd Mayweather Out Punk

What was more surprising was the fact that the fake punch was close to Floyd’s chin, which would have made him chicken out. And considering Tyson’s strength and size, he would have stunned Mayweather with his punch.

Surprisingly, Mayweather did not show he was scared, and even if he was, he did a good job of concealing it. Rather, a smile lit up Mayweather’s face, and he and Tyson enveloped in a warm hug.

Mike Tyson And Floyd Mayweather Out Punk

Several specialists shared their views on Tyson’s stimulated punch, and they marveled at Floyd Mayweather’s undeterred response. Some of them also mentioned that owing to Mike’s track record of being volatile;

they would not have maintained a calm composure like Mayweather.

The Right And Wrong Workout For Six Pack Abs!

The Right And Wrong Workout For Six Pack Abs!

The Right And Wrong Workout For Six Pack Abs!

Young boys and men are enthralled by the idea of abs training. If their partner has great abs, women love to show them off. While there is a wealth of knowledge and many gym instructors accessible to aid you in obtaining excellent abs, inaccurate information frequently leads to misunderstanding.

As a result, incorrect training strategies are used. Although you may be on the correct track to abs training, you may be making some mistakes that are preventing you from reaching your objectives. Here are most typical blunders you should avoid if you want to strengthen your abs. Correct these flaws to acquire toned abs:

Failure to perform compound exercises

While isolation exercises target your major muscle groups and help you tone up the muscles you want, you should also incorporate compound exercises into your workout routine. Squats, presses, and deadlifts are examples of compound exercises that engage your core and work more than one muscle group. To achieve effective results, make sure to include compound exercises in your training.

Starting with ab exercises

Working out on a daily basis is not a smart idea since, like other muscles, your abs require rest. Allow a day for your ab muscles to recuperate. If you can do crunches every day without any muscular pain, you might probably try a more difficult activity. While working on your abs, make sure to take a one-day break.

You Only Do Crunches

Crunches aren't the only technique to get your abs in shape. If you solely concentrate on crunches, you will not see any changes in your body over time. Other ab exercises that target the abs include ab wheel rollouts, barbell Russian twists, planks, and other similar workouts.

Not Putting Too Much Emphasis On Form

When performing abdominal workouts, make sure you follow the steps in the exact order. Even if you do a workout for a long time, it will be in vain if you do not perform the exercise correctly. Ensure that your abs are engaged during each rep.

Forgetting to Take Care of Your Lower Back

While you're working on your abs, make sure you're also working on your lower back. Because your core encompasses your back as well as your front, lower back exercises such as hyperextensions and deficit deadlifts are essential.

Failure to work from various angles

Because your core muscles run in all directions, you should make sure that your workout involves a variety of movements. Advanced exercises, such as windshield wipers, engage the entire core, including the obliques and lower back; however, if you find it too challenging, attempt other crunches to work on different angles.

Filipino Chicken Adobo Recipe

Filipino Chicken Adobo Recipe

Chicken Adobo is a type of Filipino chicken stew. Chicken pieces are marinated in soy sauce and spices, pan-fried, and stewed until tender. The dish gained popularity because of its delicious taste and ease in preparation. It tastes just right and the cooking time is around 30 minutes. The best way to eat chicken adobo is to have it with warm white rice. The combo is simply known as Chicken Adobo and Rice. Pouring some of the adobo sauce over rice before eating is a good idea because it makes it more flavorful.

Filipino Chicken Adobo Recipe

Chicken Adobo Origin

The famous Chicken Adobo originated in the Philippines. The dish is prepared using the Inadobo style of cooking. It means cooking meat or seafood with vinegar and mostly soy sauce. It is a popular method during the olden days when refrigerators and freezers were not yet available because vinegar helps extend the shelf life of food. Another popular variation is pork adobo using pork belly.

How to Cook Chicken Adobo

Cooking Chicken Adobo is quick and simple. This recipe suggests marinating the chicken to make it more flavorful. It is the best way to go if you want to experience authentic Filipino chicken adobo. If you are in a hurry, feel free to skip this step, but make sure to simmer the chicken longer than 30 minutes to better extract the flavors from it.

Start by marinating the chicken in soy sauce and garlic. The garlic needs to be crushed for best results. This process takes 1 hour to 12 hours depending on how flavorful you want the dish to be. Sometimes marinating for an hour is not enough. I think that 3 hours is optimal. The chicken absorbs most of the flavors from the soy sauce and garlic during this step. It is noticeable when you taste the dish after cooking. Note that it is also possible to include the vinegar in this step.

Filipino Chicken Adobo Recipe

The next step is to separate the chicken from the marinade. Make sure to set the marinade aside because it will be used later on. Pan-fry the chicken pieces for 1 to 1 ½ minutes per side. This will partially cook the outer part. It also makes the skin tough enough to withstand stewing later. This means that it will remain intact, which is nice for presentation.

Pour marinade into the pot and add water. Let boil. The bay leaves and whole peppercorn can now be added. The process takes 20 to 25 minutes depending on the quality of the chicken. However, feel free to cook longer in low heat for a super tender chicken adobo.
Add the vinegar. This can also be added as a part of the marinade. Let it cook for 10 minutes and then add sugar and salt. I only add salt if needed. It is important to taste your dish before adding seasonings.
Filipino chicken adobo can be served with or without sauce. If you like it very tasty then continue to cook on an uncovered cooking pot until the liquid completely evaporates.

Cooking Tips and Alternative Ingredients

Marinating the chicken adds flavor to it. It can be a time consuming process depending on how you view the situation. Since I cook this often for my family, I usually prepare the chicken ahead of time. I marinate 3 batches of chicken pieces the night before I cook the first batch. Keep the remaining marinated chicken in the freezer for later use.

Filipino Chicken Adobo Recipe

Use any chicken part when cooking Filipino chicken adobo. The common parts that I use are thigh, drumstick, and breast.
Dark Soy Sauce is common when for adobo. However, you may use any kind of soy sauce that you prefer. Using light soy sauce is not bad. Coconut aminos will also work.
White vinegar is commonly used. Cane vinegar and apple cider vinegar works too.
Garlic helps make adobo delicious. Use as many garlic as you prefer.
Onions can also be used for chicken adobo. If this is the case, it will need to be sautéed after pan frying the chicken.

Try this Filipino Chicken Adobo Recipe and let me know what you think.
